Manawanui has cemented his Victoria Derby favouritism by winning the 2011 AAMI Vase at Moonee Valley today October 22, 2011.
The three-year-old won the race by two and a half lengths ahead of Collar and Scelto.
Manawanui, who was paying odds of $1.22 to win the 2011 AAMI Vase at Luxbet, will now go to the $1.5 million Victoria Derby on October 29, 2011.
The 2011 AAMI Vase, which is this year known as the Mitchelton Wine Vase, was worth $200,000 and was run over a distance of 2,040 metres.
